RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Administration of SUEL and corporate compliance.

MAIN DUTIES:
Advising the Board of Directors on financial, statutory and corporate governance matters. General administration of SUEL including overall responsibility for General Services and services to subsidiary and associate companies.

Advising on corporate structures and investment arrangements. All contractual matters. Financial management of SUEL.

BIO:
Richard joined SUEL in 1995 (then Unisheff Ventures Ltd) when he was appointed Company Secretary and managed the affairs of the company with the assistance of his team within the University’s Commercial Accountancy section. Subsequently becoming Head of Special Projects at the University, Richard was heavily involved with the successful £100+m bid to secure the elite sports training facilities now developed in the Don Valley, the opening of the new Medical School in Ipoh, Malaysia, resulting in the building of the Perak Laboratories on Western Bank and yet still retained his involvement with SUEL. His experience of University spin-outs goes back to 1984 when he was appointed Company Secretary and Finance Manager of the very first Sheffield spin-out. In January 2002 Richard joined SUEL on a full-time basis and has assisted in expanding the SUEL business and now is a director of or company secretary to over twenty companies.
