Licensing

Licensing is the other key function that the team undertakes and this takes the form of out-licensing to external companies for milestone payments and royalties or licensing university technology to SUEL spin-out companies in order to facilitate their development and attract investors. Investment realised from these activities is used to refresh the SUEL IP budget so that new opportunities can benefit from protection and enables the university to reward academic staff for their participation in the commercialisation process.
