
What is a Mentor?In the course of SUEL’s activities we seek to identify projects that may have commercial potential. To better assess that potential and understand the risks, resources, and possible returns associated with these projects, SUEL seeks the assistance of experienced individuals to act as mentors. What does it take to be a Mentor?The process of transferring knowledge from academe to the marketplace may be complex and there are many routes to completion from sale or licensing of valuable technology to formation of “spin-out” companies. The Mentor is expected to define the most suitable route and, importantly, to make a significant commitment, often including a personal financial contribution, to the achievement of the desired outcome.
